CBS Journalist Tossed to Ground, Arrested at Chicago Trump Rally

CHICAGO, IL — A CBS News journalist covering Donald Trump's Chicago rally at UIC was thrown to the ground by a Chicago Police officer, arrested and charged with resisting arrest.

The CBS video appears to show no evidence Sopan Deb resisted arrest. Another video shows Deb identifying himself as a member of the news media and offering to show his credentials. Deb has been covering the Trump campaign for CBS News since last summer, according to the network.

Deb told his colleagues an officer put a boot on his neck as he was prone on the ground being handcuffed. Deb was grabbed from behind and taken to the ground.

Illinois State Police charged Deb with resisting arrest.

Before his own arrest, Deb tweeted about what he was seeing: "I've never seen anything like what I'm witnessing in my life."
