Chicago Air And Water Show 2018: When, How To Watch The Event

PLUS: Hip-hop artist to skydive to open show | Weekend weather forecast | Parking and shuttle info.

CHICAGO, IL — Former Chicago Cubs catcher David Ross might not be skydiving like last year, but that doesn't mean this weekend's Chicago Air and Water Show will be without any high-flying thrills. This year, hip-hop artist Che “Rhymefest” Smith will open the 2018 show with a tandem jump with the Army Golden Knights.

This is the 60th year of the event, which will run Saturday and Sunday along the lakefront at North Avenue Beach. The first show in 1959 cost only $88 to put on.

Along with the Golden Knights, other aerial performers headlining this year's event include the Air Force Thunderbirds and the Leap Frogs, the Navy's parachute team. Civilian acts include the Aerostars, the AeroShell Aerobatic Team and the Firebirds Delta Team.
