Chicago Lakefront Eateries Allowed To Open While Beaches Closed

Chicago Park District officials announced that restaurants on the lakefront will be allowed to open this week; beaches will remain closed

CHICAGO — Lakefront restaurants, concession stands and cafés will be allowed to reopen this week while the city's beach ban continues, park district officials said.

The lakefront eateries must abide by the same public health guidelines and restrictions as inland restaurants and cafés.

Park District staff is "working with each concession on its plans to adhere to the City guidelines and prevent large gatherings. The actual list of concessions is fluid as these operators are currently weighing their options. Proprietors who decide to open can do so as early as this week provided the necessary health and safety procedures are put in place.," according to the statement
