Chicago Launches Phased-In Reopening Of Vendors On Riverwalk
Chicago's Riverwalk, a 1.25-mile path along the Chicago River from Lake Street to the Lakefront, is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

CHICAGO — A phased-in reopening of downtown's Riverwalk started today with the return of food-and-drink service at Island Party Hut, Beat Kitchen on the River and City Winery.
The Chicago Riverwalk — a 1.25-mile path along the Chicago River from Lake Street to the Lakefront — is open from 6 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily. All Riverwalk vendors are expected to be allowed to reopen — with social distancing and mask requirements in place — by the end of May, city officials said.
"The Riverwalk is not only an important part of our city's economic engine, but it also adds to the liveliness of our iconic summers," said Mayor Lightfoot. "That's why I am especially thrilled to announce its concessions program is reopening earlier than any other previous season. This reopening serves as yet another indicator of our city's resilience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we look forward to making this Chicago staple available to residents and visitors this spring and summer."
