Chicago Partnership To Hire 500 Coronavirus Contract Tracers

Hiring for the coronavirus contract tracing and supervisors jobs, which pay $20 to $24 an hour, are set to begin immediately.

CHICAGO — The Cook County Workforce Partnership is set to team with public health officials to hire 500 contract tracers charged with investigating coronavirus transmissions in Chicago.

The work is part of a two-year $56 million program with 31 community groups selected to staff the COVID Contract Tracing Corps. Hiring for the jobs, which pay $20 to $24 an hour, will start immediately, officials said.

“By creating much-needed jobs to support our city-wide response to COVID-19, the COVID Contact Tracing Corps and Resource Coordination Hub will help communities impacted the most by this disease to stay afloat and invest in their career pathways. We are proud to partner with The Partnership and our CBOs on this one-of-a-kind initiative and look forward to working together to continue empowering residents as they create the bright futures they deserve," Mayor Lori Lightfoot said.
