Officials believe every vote has been saved in incident.

CHICAGO, IL — A Chicago polling site flooded shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday because of a malfunctioning sprinkler system, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

The polling place at James Otis Elementary, 542 N. Armour St., was closed down as a result. Voters in the 37th precinct of the 1st Ward were told to vote at Goldblatt's Building, 1615 W. Chicago Ave., the newspaper reported.

“We’ll make every effort to make sure that we secure and recover every single ballot,” CBOE spokesman Jim Allen said at a news conference, according to the Sun-Times. “We don’t think there were damaged voted ballots because those would already be in the scanner.” a safe spot.
