Chicago Rapper Juice WRLD Suffers 'Medical Emergency,' Dies At 21

Chicago rapper Juice WRLD, of Homewood, died Sunday morning after suffering a seizure at Midway Airport. He was 21.

CHICAGO, IL — Chicago rapper Juice WRLD died Sunday morning after what authorities called a "medical emergency" at Midway Airport. He turned 21 last Monday.

The artist, who was born Jarad Higgins, grew up in Calumet Park and reportedly lived in Homewood. He was walking in the airport after returning from California when he collapsed.

He was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy.

In his short career, Higgins released three albums, starting with 2018's, "Goodbye & Good Riddance." That album had the hit "Lucid Dreams."

That was followed by "WRLD on Drugs" and this year's, "Death Race for Love," which Rolling Stone named one of the best albums of the year.
