Chicago Sky Beat Connecticut Sun for 5th Straight Win
The Sky beat the Sun to improve to 7-7 on the season.

The Chicago Sky's streaky season continued Saturday with a win over the Connecticut Sun. The Sky's current five game winning streak followed a seven game losing streak, which followed a two game win streak to start the season. The Sky is now 7-7 and moving up in the power rankings.
The game started a bit slowly for the Sky. The Sun went on an 11-0 run near the end of the first quarter to increase their lead, ending the first at 21-12. The Sky came back in the second quarter going on a 12-3 run to cut the Sun lead to two. With just under two minutes left in the first half, the Sky finally took their first lead of the game.
The Sun came out smoking in the second half, going on a 13-0 run. The Sky opened the fourth with an 8-0 run to retake the lead. The game was tied with 4:25 left, but the Sky finished very strong with an 18-4 spurt to put the game away.

The Chicago bench outscored the Connecticut bench 42-10. The 12 points for the Sky in the first quarter is their lowest of the season, but their 28 second quarter points is their second highest total.
Courtney Vandersloot led the Sky with 18 points. Diamond DeShields had 14 points and three players came off the bench for double digits (Allie Quigley 13, Ruthy Hebard 13 and Azura Stevens 11). Vandersloot also had 11 assists, for a double-double. Kahleah Copper's nine rebounds led the Sky.

The Sky have climbed into third place in the Eastern Conference. They are now only 1.5 games behind the Sun for the top spot and only half a game behind the second place Liberty. The Sky return to action Tuesday night in New York, for the first of back-to-back games with the Liberty this week.
