Chicago Sky Beat Connecticut Sun 81-75

The Chicago Sky beat the Connecticut Sun for their fourth straight victory..

The Chicago Sky beat the Connecticut Sun to extend their winning streak to four games. The 81-75 victory against the Sun was a big winb for the team.

The Sun lead through most of the first half, going up 19-6 after the first quarter and 36-31 at halftime. It looked like the (then) 8-3 Sun were pulling away on the way to a solid win. Sky Coach James Wade rallied the team at halftime and they came out hot in the third. A 28-19 quarter put the Sky in the lead, a lead they would not lose. Every time it looked like the Sun wer making a charge, the Sky responded.

Kahleah Copper led the Sky with 18 points. Five Sky players scored double digits. Besides Copper, Candace Parker (15), Diamond DeShields (13), Courtney Vandersloot (12) and Allie Quigley (11 off the bench) all reached double digits. Ruthy Hebard added six and Stefanie Dolson and Azura Stevens each had three to round out the Sky scoring. Copper and Parker tied for the team lead in rebounds with eight each.

For the Sun, DeWanna Bonner had a double-double (10 points and 10 rebounds), but didn't lead her team in either category. Jasmine Thomas (20 points) and Brionna Jones (12 rebounds) paced the Sun.

It was a big for the Sky to beat the Sun. Despite playing without star Jonquel Jones, the Sun is still in first place in the Eastern Conference and is one of only three teams with a winning record. The win improved the Sky's record to 6-7.

The two teams will meet again at Wintrust Arena Saturday afternoon. Another win will bring the Sky to even on the year, which is a big step after that long losing streak.
