The Chicago Sky beat the Indiana Fever 83-79 on Saturday afternoon. The victory was not as easy as all would have hoped, but the Sky will take their second straight win after a seven game losing streak.

This was Candace Park Day, as she recorded her 135th career double-double (20 P, 14 R) to move into fourth place all-time (behind Sylvia Fowles, Tina Charles and Lisa Leslie). With four assists, Parker moved into 12th place on the WNBA all-time assists list.

On the subject of all-time stats, Courtney Vandersloot notched a milestone of her own. She had four rebounds, to reach the 9,500 rebound mark for her career.

The Sky led 29-27 after one quarter and 56-49 at the half. The third quarter belonged to Indiana though, as they cut the lead to one, ending the quarter 67-66. This is where things got scary and Sky fans worried we would see another bad streak cost them the game. Fortunately, the Sky hung tough, and came away with the four point victory.

Parker led the team in points and rebounds. Off the bench, Allie Quigley was next in points with 16. Kahleah Copper added 14 points, while Stefanie Dolson chippe in 11.

The Fever were led by Teaira McCowan, who also had a double-double (20 p, 13 R). McCowan came off the bench to almost save her team, but it wasn't enough.

The win brought the Sky to 4-7. Although they sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, they are only two games behind second place New York. That's the good news. The bad news is three of their next six games are against first place Connecticut, who is 8-2 in first place.

Of course, that could be good news, if the Sky can pull out a couple wins against the Sun, but that's a tall order. Still, if the Sky are going to be real contenders, they can't sit on the two wins against Indiana. They need to continue stacking wins.

The next game for the Sky is Tuesday at Minnesota, followed by Thursday at Wintrust Arena hosting the Sun. Marquette alum Natisha Hiedeman will have a large contingent from the Milwaukee area. Hopefully, SkyTown will be loud and the Sky are up for this challenge.
