City Club Opens MDA Modern in The Loop
Apartment Hotel development features - Sexy Bathrooms, Rooftop Sky Park with Gourmet Kitchen, Fire Pit and Lounge Seating, Rooftop Pool
Detroit-based City Club Apartments hosted a Grand Opening Event for its City Club Apartments MDA-Phase II `Modern` in the historic Loop District in downtown Chicago today. City Club Apartments CEO Jonathan Holtzman was among the speakers during the event.
“We are thrilled to deliver MDA Phase II `Modern` to this great neighborhood,” said Holtzman. “We have been actively developing, owning and managing high-performing mixed-use apartment and penthouse communities in Chicago for more than 24 years. This is the first of two new developments that we will be opening in the City in the next 18 months as part of City Club`s `Apartment Hotel` strategy.”
The community, which is located at 63 East Lake Street in the Loop District, is just steps from the Chicago River and the famous Theater District and a short walk from Millennium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago and Michigan Avenue shopping. The 23-floor `Historic` 1927 first phase MDA building was redeveloped into a mixed-use apartment community in 2006.

MDA Phase II`s `Modern` is a new 7-story mid-rise, mixed-use building that added 81 studio, studio N and convertible units to MDA I’s 190 existing apartments and penthouses. This incredible development offers rents unparalleled in this prime location in the Loop which has undergone a sweeping transformation. The architecture of the `Modern` building echo’s the historic architecture of Chicago with decorative brickwork, large casement style windows, black metalwork fenestration and international design interiors. The new rooftop Sky Park includes a heated outdoor pool, wrap around sun loungers, outdoor theatre, grill station and lounge seating as well as spectacular city views. The second floor houses a multi-purpose Entertainment Clubroom/Conference room and connects to CCA MDA Phase I `Historic` via a 6th-floor Skybridge.
MDA Phase II `Modern` studio, convertible and penthouse apartments offer four distinct finish packages, exclusively designed CCA kitchens & furniture, granite countertops, sexy bathrooms oversized windows, 9’-11’ ceilings, custom closets, murphy beds and wood plank flooring.

“Our communities are resort style amenity and service rich environments,” said Holtzman. “The look and feel, both inside and outside, of this new community are stunning. The building meets Green Building Initiative’s Green Globes Certification and we are pursuing both Wellness and Clean Rated Certifications. With our Apartment Hotel concept, residents are able to choose between short and long-term furnished and long-term unfurnished apartments. Guests and residents can stay for a day, week, month or years.”
CCA MDA Phase I `Historic` and II `Modern` residents have access to the combined amenities and services of both buildings. These include the onsite restaurant Elephant &
Castle, as well as retail, 24/7 concierge, lobby lounge library, 24/7 whole body fitness center, weekly social programing events, pool and hot-tub, multi-purpose clubroom/conference room, Zen Garden, Sky Club, bicycle room, Bark Park, indoor and outdoor theatres, business center and conference room and the latest high speed technologies.
