Community Survey says No to Stadium, Live Nation & 800 ft towers
3 out of 4 respondents oppose these controversial concepts in the Lincoln Yards planned development proposal
A recently released community survey taken by the Sheffield Neighborhood Association (SNA) on Sterling Bay's Lincoln Yards development indicates strong and clear community opposition on the three most controversial pieces of the development proposal: a 20,000 seat soccer stadium, Live Nation exclusivity and 700 to 800 foot high-rise buildings.
One question in the survey collected opinions on the proposed 20,000 seat soccer stadium. 75.2% answered that it is either “important” or “very important” that the “20,000 seat stadium/venue concept should be “completely eliminated” from the developers proposal. A majority 538 of the 883 respondents (62.5%) feel it is “extremely important” that the idea be eliminated from the proposal answering with either 9 or 10 out of 10.
Additionally, 74.1% of the respondents would not support an exclusive agreement being given to Live Nation “excluding local concert promoters from competing on an even playing field.” A total of 647 respondents or 73.8% indicated by answering a 1 or 2 out of 1-10 scale that they would not support any 70 to 80 story buildings in the Lincoln Yards development.
