Cubs Co-Owner Todd Ricketts To Become RNC Finance Chair: Reports
Casino magnate Steve Wynn resigned as chair over sexual misconduct allegations.

CHICAGO, IL — The Republican National Committee plans to announce Chicago Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts as its next finance chair, according to multiple reports. Casino magnate Steve Wynn resigned as chair over the weekend after sexual misconduct allegations. Politico first reported Ricketts would be named the next chair.
Trump nominated Ricketts to be deputy secretary of the Commerce Department, but the Cubs' co-owner said he was frustrated with the procedures to get his finances in line with government requirements, and dropped out in April.
Ricketts was a major financial contributor to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker during the 2016 presidential campaign, but the governor withdrew before the GOP primaries began.
