Daily Thunderstorm Chances In Illinois, Hot Weather Continues

​The weather service said chances for severe weather are low but that heavy downpours are possible.

ILLINOIS — Warm temperatures will continue into the workweek, and there will be daily chances for thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will be in the 80s all week, and isolated to scattered storms are possible several days this week, especially in the afternoon or early evening, according to the weather service.

Monday has a high of 85, Tuesday a high of 87, Wednesday a high of 85, Thursday will be 86, and Friday has a high of 89 degrees, according to the weather service. On Monday, there is a 50 percent chance of storms, mainly after 1 p.m., and a 20 percent chance of storms Monday night, the weather service said.

Tuesday will again see possible thunderstorms after 1 p.m. and a 30 percent chance of storms before 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the forecast.

The weather service said chance for severe weather is low but heavy downpours are possible. It will also be breezy throughout the week, with more-humid conditions expected.
