Flood Advisory Issued for Cook County

The NWS reports some thunderstorm risk early next week, too.

A Flood Advisory was issued for Cook County by the National Weather Service Saturday morning as a torrential downpour moved across south Cook County, the city of Chicago and the North Shore.

This includes an urban and small-stream flood advisory for northeastern Cook County.

One inch of rain has already fallen and another inch is expected.

Flooding is likely in Chicago, Cicero, Evanston, Skokie, Des Plaines, Oak Lawn, Berywn, Mount Prospect, Oak Park Glenview, Park Ridge, Wilmette, Maywood, Blue Island, Morton Grove, Alsip, Brookfield, Franklin Park, Hinsdale and Westchester.

Some flooding has been reported on the outbound Kennedy Expressway ramp at Belmont in Chicago.

Mannheim Road from Butterfield Road to St. Charles Road also reportedly is closed due to flooding.
