Guaranteed Rate Field To Welcome White Sox Fans At Full Capacity
The South Side ballpark will fully reopen June 25 against Seattle when the Sox will host the first fireworks display since the 2019 season.

CHICAGO — The Chicago White Sox are making a charge for a championship season and before long, their first-place style of baseball will be open to a full house.
The White Sox announced Wednesday that Guaranteed Rate will move to full capacity on June 25 when they face the Seattle Mariners. The game will include the team’s first fireworks display since the 2019 season and the first 10,000 fans will receive a free White Sox cap, the team said in a news release.
“This is an incredible milestone for the Chicagoland community and White Sox fans,” Brooks Boyer, White Sox chief revenue and marketing officer said in a news release. “Since the pandemic began, the entire organization has been looking forward to the day we could welcome all fans back home to see White Sox baseball in person. It’s a night we’re going to celebrate with all of the pomp and circumstance of our annual home opener.

“Our Reopening Night is lining up to be a memorable evening, and fans will not want to miss the opportunity to be a part of it – back in their own seats and cheering on our first place-team.”
The Sox made the announcement two days before Illinois is slated to enter Phase 5 of Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s reopening plan. The cross-town Cubs will open to 100 percent capacity on Friday when they begin a three-game series against the rival St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field.

The Sox also announced that single-game tickets for the remainder of the season will go on sale at noon on June 15.
Until now, the Sox had been playing in front of 60 percent capacity after starting the season playing in front of 20 percent capacity. As part of the reopening plan, White Sox season-ticket holders will be allowed to return to their normal seats and socially distanced seating pods will no longer be used, the team said.
Mobile ticketing, cashless transactions, level restrictions, enhanced cleaning measures as well as the no-bag policy (except for medical bags, small clutch purses that are 9” x 5” or smaller and diaper bags) will remain in place. Fans are also encouraged to remain socially distanced, when possible, and fans who are not fully vaccinated are encouraged to wear a face covering or mask.
