Gusty Snow Showers, Lightning Possible Wednesday: IL Weather

ILLINOIS — After some snowflakes on Tuesday, gusty snow showers are likely Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Hard freezes were also expected Tuesday night and Wednesday night for the Chicago area, as temps drop below freezing.

Most areas saw trace amounts of snow, although the weather service said on Twitter that its facility in Romeoville saw 1.1 inches of snow.

On Wednesday, bursts of snow are expected, with any accumulation melting quickly.

Scattered heavy snow showers could cause brief, poor visibility. There could also be 30 to 40 mph wind gusts and occasional lightning strikes.
