How Do Enrollment Numbers at Illinois' Public Colleges Compare to Last Fall?

While it’s too early to lay the blame entirely on the budget mess, it’s safe to say the uncertainty over higher education funding has had at least some effect on student enrollment at a number of Illinois public universities.

All but two of the state’s public colleges have released their 10-day enrollment counts, but based on those that have, it appears to show a mixed bag.

Here's a look at both the percent change in total enrollment and freshman enrollment at public universities for the fall semester compared to last year.
