IDOT Announces Stevenson Expressway Lane Closures

From IDOT:The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that lane closures will take place in both directions on the Stevenson Expressway (Interstate 55) under Damen Avenue, approximately two miles southwest of Interstate 90/94, in Chicago, weather permitting, Saturday, June 24. The closures are necessary to perform bridge inspections on the structure that carries Damen Avenue over the Stevenson Expressway.

Starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, temporary lane closures will take place in both directions on the Stevenson Expressway under Damen Avenue. The bridge inspection is expected to be completed by 11 a.m.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
