Images Released Of Shooter In Fatal Teen Takeover Shooting Of 14-Year-Old Boy In Loop: CPD

Images and video gleaned from a CPD officer's body-cam show a man holding up what appears to be a gun before a 14-year-old boy was shot.

CHICAGO ? Police have released images of a suspect in the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Armani Floyd last Friday near Federal Plaza following a ?teen takeover? in downtown Chicago.

Less than an hour before, eight teens were shot just five blocks away by the Chicago Theater, near areas where large crowds had gathered for the city?s tree lighting in Millennium Park and the opening of Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza.

Around 10:40 p.m., Nov. 21, Chicago police officers responded to a call of two people shot in the 100 block of South Dearborn Street. Floyd had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. An 18-year-old man was shot in the leg. Both were transported to Northwestern Hospital, where Floyd was later pronounced.

Chicago police are asking for the public?s help in identifying a person of interest who may be involved in the fatal shooting.

Images gleaned from an CPD officer?s body-cam show a male black wearing a purple trainer suit and gray hoodie. A video clip is also included that shows the man in the crowd and, at one point, holding up what appears to be a gun.

Anyone who recognizes this person or has knowledge of the shooting, is asked to call Det. Goodrich of Chicago Police Area 3 Detective Division, at 312-744-8261. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to CPDTip.

Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Armani Floyd?s shooter, by calling 800-535-STOP (4357). A Texas non-profit is also offering a $5,000 reward, bringing the total to $15,000.
