Judge Revokes Bail, Sends Ex-Chicago Alderman To Report To Jail
A Cook County Judge ordered former Chicago Ald. Procco "Joe" Moreno to report to jail Thursday after being charged with DUI.

CHICAGO — A Cook County Judge on Thursday ordered former Ald. Procco "Joe" Moreno to report to jail for getting charged with drunken and reckless driving while out on bail on insurance fraud charges.
The Cook County State's Attorney's office filed a motion seeking harsher restrictions on Moreno for violating the terms of his bail bond on felony fraud charges, officials said. Instead, Judge William Hooks revoked the ex-ward boss's bond and ordered Moreno to report to jail by Thursday afternoon.
The former 1st Ward alderman failed to win re-election in February 2019. Months later, Moreno was charged with felony insurance fraud and destroying evidence for allegedly falsely reporting his car stolen after loaning the vehicle to a woman he previously dated. Moreno pleaded not guilty to the felony charges and had been free on bond while awaiting trial
