Loose Dog Rescued From Dan Ryan After Fiery Crash: Reports

Police believe the dog jumped out of a car window prior to the crash.

CHICAGO, IL — A dog was rescued after running loose on the Dan Ryan during rush hour — and causing a fiery crash, according to one news outlet.

Police believe the dog jumped out of a car around 4 p.m. near 71st Street, causing the crash and running around the inbound lanes, ABC Chicago reported, adding, "It's not clear if anyone was injured in the crash or who the dog belongs to."

The incident caused long delays and huge backups in both directions before police were able to capture the dog.
