CHICAGO, IL — Singer and songwriter Melanie Martinez is coming to Chicago on her world tour to support her new album, “K-12.” Buy tickets now to see this talented young singer perform on Oct. 25 at the Riviera Theatre.
Expected to be an amazing theatrical performance, the world tour follows the release of her new album, “K-12,” which is set to be released on Sept. 6. The tour will hit North American cities, kicking off in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 13 and wrapping up in Hamburg, Germany on Dec. 17.

Martinez got her start appearing on The Voice in 2012, after which she released both her debut EP and single of the same name, “Dollhouse.” The success of this was followed in 2015 with the release of “Cry Baby,” her debut studio album which hit Billboard’s #1 on the Current Alternative Album charts. Her single “Pity Party” off the album was featured in a companion video that has received over 146 million views.

Known for her eclectic style, The Guardian defines Martinez as “off-kilter, sweary electropop.” In an interview with Altpress, Martinez is excited about touring, “It’s been a bit since I’ve been on tour and I’m incredibly excited to bring the movie to life on stage. I’m putting all of my energy into making it not only visually stunning and pleasing to the senses but also a fun learning experience and a safe place to express yourself and be accepted for exactly who you are.”
Chicago fans can expect her performance to be creative and unique, with Martinez playing favorites from “Cry Baby,” such as “Carousel” and “Dollhouse.” In support of her new album, as Martinez takes to the stage she’ll no doubt perform new material, including the much anticipated “Lunchbox Friends.”
