EAGLE COUNTY, CO — A minor league baseball player in the Chicago Cubs farm system has been arrested on accusations he had methamphetamine and oxycodone pills while driving in Colorado on St. Patrick's Day.

Jesus Camargo Corrales, 25, of Arizona was charged with four felonies associated with the distribution and possession of drugs by the Eagle County Sheriff's Office, according to several reports and confirmed by the Eagle County Sheriff's Office.

Police in Eagle County said Camargo was speeding and drifting between lanes in a silver BMW just before noon on March 17 when he was stopped by a K-9 unit that found what's believed to be 21 pounds of meth and 1.2 pounds of oxycodone pills inside a duffel bag with the Cubs' logo on it.

The bag also had inside it baseball gloves, cleats, and $1,000 of "neatly bundled cash," the sheriff's office said.

Camargo told police there were not any drugs in the car because he has to follow a strict anti-doping policy as a baseball player for the Cubs, 9News, an NBC affiliate in Denver, reported, citing a police affidavit.

Two passengers in the car weren't charged, as police said they did not know about the drugs.

Camargo has been with the Cubs organization since 2014, and is listed as an "active" member of the South Bend Cubs High-A team. He has appeared in 73 minor league games since he was first signed by the Cubs, his statistics show.

He's been held in the Eagle County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond, according to 9News.
