BELVIDERE, IL — Car maker Stellantis, owner of the Jeep brand, announced it will cut one of two work shifts at its Belvidere, Illinois, assembly plant on July 26.
A spokesperson said a global car chip shortage is partly why they had to reduce staff. It’s also the reason why the plant hasn’t been working on cars since late March.
