New Year, New Pet: Chicago Adoption Fees Waived

Chicago Animal Care and Control is offering no-fee adoptions on New Year's Eve and Day in an effort to find homes for furry friends.

CHICAGO, IL — If you're interested in welcoming the new year with a new furry friend, here's a great chance. Chicago Animal Care and Control, 2741 S Western Ave., is offering no-fee adoptions for certain times to help find these animals new homes.

From noon to 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve and from noon to 3 p.m. New Year's Day, residents can adopt dogs and cats 6 months or older with no adoption fees.

Usually, a $65 adoption fee comes with bringing your new friend home, but in an effort to find homes quickly, they're waiving the fee.
