Obituary: Thomas Ray Siwek

He retired as an Assistant Commissioner for the City of Chicago. Thomas and his wife Bernadette owned and operated"The Donk" Tavern.

Thomas Ray Siwek, passed away at the age of 86, on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at his home in Morris, IL. Thomas was born in Chicago, IL on November 5, 1934, the son of the late Thomas and Caroline (nee Groszek) Siwek. He was a graduate of Weber High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola University. He retired as an Assistant Commissioner for the City of Chicago. Thomas and his wife Bernadette owned and operated”The Donk”, a well known tavern in Chicago that served the legal/local community for many years.

Thomas is preceded by his loving wife of 46 years, Bernadette (Migut) Siwek (2016). Thomas is survived by three stepdaughters. Shirlee (Dennis), Lenore (Mark) and Kathy. Grandchildren: Denise, Michael, Tracy (Damon) and Kenneth (Jenn). Great Grandchildren: Emma, Christopher and Nicholas, Quinton, Amari and Trinity and Aubrey.

Visitation for Thomas Ray Siwek will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 (at Deerpath Dr.), Morris, IL. In accordance with the Illinois guidelines, a 10 person capacity will be followed. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Franciscan Friars, P.O Box 300, 1350 Rt. 9, Garrison, NY,10524-0301, would be appreciated.
