O'Hare Has One Of America's Least-Safe Baggage Claims: Ranking
The airport came in fifth on the list.
CHICAGO — O?Hare International Airport has one of the least safe baggage claims in America, according to a recent ranking.
Airline compensation company AirAdvisor compiled the ranking to determine where travelers are most likely to have their bag stolen, taking into account Google search instances for lost luggage, distance from gate to baggage claim, Google rating, negative Yelp reviews and passenger volume.
O?Hare came in fifth on the list, between John F. Kennedy International Airport at No. 4 and Denver International Airport at No. 6.

?With passenger volumes at over 73 million per year and over 8,000 searches for lost luggage the airport is prime for stolen luggage at the baggage claim,? an AirAdvisor news release said of O?Hare.
Chicago Midway International Airport was not on the list.

According to the ranking, the least safe baggage claims are at No. 1-ranked Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport followed by Los Angeles International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, respectively.
The country?s safest baggage claim is at Helena Regional Airport in Montana, according to AirAdvisor.
