Oscar Mayer Hiring 'Hotdoggers' To Drive Giant Wienermobile

CHICAGO — Imagine yourself driving across America behind the wheel of a 27-foot-long hot dog? Oscar Mayer, a division of Kraft-Heinz, is hiring drivers to commandeer six Wienermobiles that will crisscross the country spreading good will and hot dogs at shopping centers, parks, schools, stadiums and other venues.

Applicants must be outgoing and friend, have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in public relations, communications, journalism, or a similar field, and a favorable driving record which is part of the recruitment process. These are one-year paid positions as Oscar Mayer hotdoggers. The primary role of a hotdogger is “brand ambassador.” If you think you cut the mustard, applications will be accepted online through Jan. 31.

The first Wienermobile was created in 1936 by Carl Mayer. The 1952 wienermobile is currently on exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich. In 1969, the wienermobile featured Ford Thunderbird tail lights and a Chevy motor home frame. It averaged 187 miles to the gallon, according to the Oscar Mayer website.
