CHICAGO — Culver's is finally coming to Ravenswood later this month and eager residents are encouraged to apply for jobs.

The fast-food restaurant first made an appearance in the neighborhood in July of 2019 when a Culver's sign was put up on an empty building at 1819 West Montrose Avenue. The company formally announced the Ravenswood location in November 2020, and promised residents the home of the ButterBurger would open sometime in the spring.

A spokesperson for the upcoming restaurant said the location will open as soon as they're able to hire and train 40 to 50 employees.

Baron Waller, owner of the new Ravenswood Culver's and several other Culver's in the city, is hosting a job fair from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the restaurant on Montrose Avenue.

Waller also owns franchise locations in Bronzeville and Pullman in addition to three more in the southwest suburbs.

"It's important that we work in the community to provide people of all ages with new opportunities," Waller said in a statement. "We see our job as mentoring our team members so they can grow their careers with us and even become owners of a restaurant."

No prior restaurant experience is needed to apply due to Culver's ongoing job training. Attending the job fair in person will guarantee a face-to-face interview. Interested applicants who are unable to be there in person can still apply by visiting www.culvers.com/careers.

The new Culver's will not have a drive-thru and instead will center pedestrians in the design. This includes a take-out window and seating inside.
