Reward Upped To $25K For Suspect In 7-Year-Old's Shooting Death
The FBI believes the 22-year-old man who killed 7-year-old Jaslyn Adams may be in Florida, according to federal charges.
CHICAGO — The FBI has upped the reward money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man believed to have shot an AK-47 into a car at a fast food drive-thru, killing a 7-year-old Oak Park girl.
A federal arrest warrant was issued for 22-year-old Devontay Anderson on April 29, a suspect in the murder of Jaslyn Adams, who on April 18 was sitting in a car with her father as they waited in line at the McDonlad’s drive-thru, 3200 W. Roosevelt Road, Chicago. Police believe the young girl’s father was the actual target, who suffered a gunshot wound in the back.
The reward has been increased from $10,000 to $25,000. Anderson is known to have connections in Illinois, Indiana and Florida, federal agents said. In addition to first-degree and attempted first-degree murder charges, Anderson is charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. A GPS tracker last traced Anderson in the Miami, Fla., area, according to the feds.
