School Bus Fire Shuts Down Dan Ryan Expressway
UPDATED: The driver was able to escape the burning vehicle Wednesday afternoon near Canalport Avenue.

CHICAGO, IL — A school bus fire Wednesday afternoon has all lanes of the inbound Dan Ryan Expressway shut down near Canalport Avenue. The closed lanes are between 31st Street and the Stevenson Expressway, the Total Traffic & Weather Network reports.
Cars were backed up as far as Pershing Road, according to TTWN. Crews began cleaning up the accident just before 3:30 p.m., and the expressway was reopened just after 4:15 p.m., WBBM-AM reports.
No one was hurt in the fire, the report stated. The driver, who was the only person aboard the bus, was able to escape the vehicle, the report added.
