Sporadic Showers, Temps Near 70 For The Weekend In Illinois

Even warmer temperatures are on the horizon, as the work week ahead looks to stay in the 70s.

ILLINOIS — A mild weekend is expected as the warming trend continues in the Chicago area. According to the National Weather Service, a high of 68 is expected Saturday and a high of 73 on Sunday.

Temperatures will stay cooler near Lake Michigan, and there is also some periodic chances of showers, according to the weather service.

There is a chance of rain all throughout the weekend, on Saturday, Saturday night, Sunday and Sunday night, according to the forecast. However, the weather service said the weekend doesn't look like a total washout, so don't cancel outdoor plans yet.

The weekend could also be slightly gusty, with winds as high as 20 mph on Saturday and 15 mph on Sunday.

After the weekend, the chance of sporadic showers continues into the work week, as does the warming temperatures, according to the weather service. The high for Monday is 76 and the high for Tuesday is 78.
