B is for Books

Bring your youngster to an interactive story time this summer at the Lincoln Belmont branch of the Chicago Public Library. B is for Books is an event designed for kids ages 3-6, and all reading levels are welcome. In addition to weekly storytelling, this event also includes poems, songs, dances and projects that focus on art or science. This event is free to attend and open to the general public.

Father's Day Storytime at Barnes and Noble


Celebrate Father's Day with a fun-filled story at your neighborhood Barnes and Noble. Follow the adventures of four different father-child pairs as they spend the day racing around in shopping carts, popping bubble wrap and watching cartoons with their kids! No matter how grown up these dads might look, they still love to do silly stuff with their little ones. After the story, you can participate in a hands-on activity designed to help bring the book to life. Father's Day Storytime starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17.

Words to Grow On


Interested in improving your child's vocabulary this summer? Words to Grow On is a free, family-friendly event designed for children ages 2-5 and their parents. Attendees will participate in an interactive storytelling workshop and a follow-up craft project that reinforces new vocabulary words - this event is intended to improve reading comprehension while bringing the weekly story to life.

Where: Sherman Park Library, 5440 S. Racine Ave.

When: Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
