90-Degree Temps: Summery Weekend Weather For Illinois

Some may see some rain and storms, but most of the weekend will remain dry.

ILLINOIS — Very warm temperatures are expected, and some could see showers or thunderstorms this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Although rain and storms are possible, most of the weekend will still be dry.

A high of 86 degrees is expected Saturday, and a high of 88 degrees on Sunday, according to the weather service forecast.

Isolated showers are possible Saturday, and there is a chance of thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon, mainly north of Interstate 80.

Warmer temperatures will also continue into the work week, according to the weather service. Monday will have a high of 87, and Tuesday a high of 86.

Although it may feel like summer, the National Weather Service advised not swimming in Lake Michigan without proper attire, like a wetsuit. At the Chicago shore, water temperatures are still 57 degrees. At the Winthrop Harbor buoy, water temperatures are even colder at 48 degrees.
