SWAT Arrests Man Who Threatened To 'Shoot Up' O'Hare: Police
Police said the man also threatened the White House, but after an anonymous tip, a SWAT unit showed up at his hotel room door.
CHICAGO — A police SWAT unit responded to a hotel near O'Hare International Airport Friday morning after an unidentified caller told police a man had threatened to shoot up the airport and the White House, police said. The man was taken into custody at 3:37 a.m., and charged against him are pending.
Police said the anonymous tipster called the Chicago Police Department's front desk at O'Hare and told them his friend had sent a picture of himself with a gun in his car.
"The caller stated his friend was checked into a hotel near O'Hare and that he told him he was going to 'shoot up' the White House and O'Hare Airport," police said.

When the SWAT unit arrived at his hotel room door, the man let them in, and he was arrested without incident, police said. Further information wasn't immediately available.
