Teen Pulled From Lake Michigan In Extremely Critical Condition
The girl was rescued from rough waters around Loyola Beach on Friday night after a 45-minute search.

CHICAGO, IL — A teenage girl was pulled from Lake Michigan Friday night following a 45-minute search of the water around a North Side beach, according to WGN-TV News. She was one of two teenage girls who needed to be rescued from the lake because of treacherous conditions, the report added.
According to Chicago police, the two girls were part of a group of five teens who encountered trouble in the choppy waters around Loyola Beach in the Rogers Park neighborhood at about 7:40 p.m. Friday, July 6, the report stated. The other three teens were able reach shore on their own, the report added.
Authorities rescued a 14-year-old girl shortly after arriving at the beach, and she was taken to a local hospital, where her condition was stabilized, the report stated. A search then was mounted for the other girl who is said to be either 14 or 15, the report added.

After 45 minutes, the teen was located, and she was given CPR at the scene, the report stated. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is listed in extremely critical condition, the report added.
Lake Michigan beaches in Cook County and northwestern Indiana were under an advisory by the National Weather Service on Friday. Beach-goers were warned of deadly rip currents and high waves that could reach as high as 6 feet.
