ILLINOIS — Warm temperatures in the 80s are set to continue for most of the upcoming week, according to the National Weather Service forecast. There is also an almost daily chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms, the weather service said.
Monday has a high of 86, Tuesday a high of 87, Wednesday a high of 84 and Thursday a high of 81, according to the weather service. Friday will be a bit cooler, with a high of 72 degrees.

Monday should remain dry, but there is a chance of storms on Tuesday. According to the weather service, a slow-moving cold front will move across the area Tuesday night into Wednesday. Strong to severe storms are possible, with gusty winds and hail as the main threats.

Wednesday also has a chance of showers, with storms possible south of Interstate 80, according to the weather service. The chance of storms also remains on both Thursday and Friday.
