Veterans Day 2018: What's Open, Closed In Chicago

Find out how the holiday will affect city agencies, institutions and services Monday.

CHICAGO — This year, Veterans Day was officially Sunday, Nov. 11, and while events honoring U.S. military men and women were held this weekend, many institutions around Chicago will observe the holiday Monday.

Here's a look at how some places and services in the city will be handling Veterans Day:

Schools: Chicago Public Schools will have no classes Monday.

City Government: City offices will be closed Monday. County, state and federal government offices will be closed, too.

Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.

Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.

Retailers, Restaurants, Bars and Other Businesses: Most will be open, but check hours ahead of time.
