Weather Causes More Than 1,000 Flight Cancellations In Chicago
Wet snow and rain caused flight cancellations and major delays and O'Hare and Midway.
CHICAGO — Wet snow and rain caused more than 1,000 flight cancellations Sunday and Monday at O'Hare and Midway. Many flights were delayed by more than an hour at both airports over the past 24 hours.
More than 1,000 flights were canceled Sunday at O'Hare, with an average delay of 45 minutes. There were more than 150 flight cancellations at Midway, with delays averaging 20 minutes.
More than 150 flights were cancelled at O'Hare Monday morning, and five flights were canceled at Midway. Some passengers were stuck at the airports overnight after their flights were axed.

More than 5 inches of snow fell at O'Hare Sunday, and four fell at Midway, according to the National Weather Service.
