Weekend In The 80s, Storms Possible On Sunday For Illinois

Dry and windy conditions will also create an increased risk of brush fire spread on Saturday, the weather service said.

ILLINOIS — After a cooler Friday with temps around 60 degrees, it will be much hotter this weekend as the Chicago area once again sees temperatures in the 80s. According to the National Weather Service forecast, the high for Saturday and Sunday is 83 degrees.

Saturday is set to be sunny and dry, but it will be windy with gusts up to 45 mph, according to the weather service. These conditions will create an increased risk of brush fire spread, especially north of Interstate 80 and along the I-39 corridor, the weather service said.

Wind gusts will also be strong enough to bring down twigs or small tree limbs, and you should secure outdoor items which may blow away. High profile vehicles may also find travel difficult.
