ILLINOIS — Winter is apparently not over yet, as accumulating wet snow is expected Monday for the Chicago area. Wet snow and sleet accumulation is possible north of Interstate 80 and especially for areas near and west of I-39, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
A low pressure system will cause the wintry precipitation across the area, which could also include ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch and accumulating sleet south of I-80, according to the weather service.
The areas north and east of Chicago will see the greatest potential for accumulation of snow, with up to 2 inches of snow possible, according to the weather service.
