Anthony's Pub Arrest: Another Patron Who Pushed Joliet Police Got Away, Cops Say

The last incident happened over the weekend.

JOLIET, IL ? The Joliet Police Department announced the arrest of a 28-year-old Aurora resident in connection with allegations that he attacked officers at the Anthony's Pub and Restaurant.

According to the arrest reports, Demarcus Jones was booked into the Will County Jail on charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer, obstructing a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, trespassing and aggravated intimidation.

According to the police, the incident happened around 10 p.m. Friday.

Police spokesman Dwayne English said that an officer working a contract detail at Anthony?s Restaurant and Pub, 3151 Voyager Lane, was notified by security regarding multiple people who were asked to leave the premises.

When approached by the officer, Jones refused to comply with instructions to leave. As the officer attempted to escort him out, Jones began to physically resist, English said.

A second man then approached and pushed the officer to interfere in the removal of Jones. Jones allegedly pushed the officer in an attempt to flee, but was taken into custody in the parking lot by the officer, English said.

The second male ran from the incident and could not be located, English revealed.

While in custody, Jones made verbal threats to harm the officer, police noted. Jones was processed without incident and transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
