Arrested Twice By Joliet Police In 2 Hours: Resident's 2nd Arrest Means Will County Jail Time
Joliet police officers responded to the Main Stay Suites at 135 South Larkin Avenue for an unwanted man on the property.

JOLIET, IL ? A 45-year-old Joliet now finds himself in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Willie Dabney tried to bite one of the officers at the Motel 6 on McDonough Street, the arrest reports show. For Dabney it was his second Joliet police arrest in a matter of two hours.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, for the first arrest, Dabney was released on a notice to appear for criminal trespassing and obstructing a peace officer. As for the second arrest, Dabney was put in the back of a squad car and dropped off at the Will County Jail on much more serious charges including obstructing justice, criminal trespass and aggravated assault to a peace officer.
Joliet police interactions with Dabney took place late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

On September 2 at 11:07 p.m., the officers responded to the Main Stay Suites at 135 South Larkin Avenue for an unwanted man on the property. When the officers made contact with Dabney, who indicated he had personal items in a guest room that was being rented by another person. Staff at the hotel confirmed Dabney was not welcome on the property, English noted.
At that moment, Dabney refused to leave the property when ordered by the officers, so he was placed into custody. While handcuffed, Dabney began pulling away and ignoring orders to comply, the arrest logs show. He was then taken to the Joliet Police Department where he was processed and released on the Notice to Appear.

By 1:03 a.m. the officers were dispatched to Motel 6 at 1850 McDonough Street for a disturbance. This time, Dabney was in the parking lot and Dabney had been previously told by the officers the night before to not to return to Motel 6, Joliet police advised.
While at the Joliet Police Department, Dabney refused to cooperate with the booking process and attempted to bite an officer, English said.
He was then transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. This marks Dabney's fourth Will County Jail detention since June 2023. He comes from the apartment units in the 300 block of North Broadway Street.
