Cass Street Bridge Closure Begins on Monday, May 11
The bridge closing, which is expected to last through May 15, is part of the moveable bridge centralized project.
JOLIET, IL — On Monday, May 11, the Illinois Department of Transportation will close the Cass Street Bridge, which stretches over the Des Plaines River. The bridge’s closing is part of an ongoing moveable bridge centralized control project. Work on the bridge is expected to be complete by the end of next week with the bridge reopening on Friday, May 15.
A detour will be posted for motorists, who are also urged to use extreme caution and seek alternative routes when traveling through the area.
