Crusade Burger Bar Expanding To Joliet Area

CREST HILL, IL ? While most people were preoccupied with July 4th festivities, the owners of the Crusade Burger Bar in Yorkville posted an announcement on Facebook that may have been overlooked by thousands of Joliet area residents. Crusade Burger is expanding from Yorkville and opening Crusade 2 at 20631 West Renwick Road.

"It is with great excitement that we can finally announce the opening of Crusade 2 at 20631 West Renwick Road in Crest Hill," Crusade Burger Bar announced on Facebook on July 4. "We're working feverishly to renovate the interior and make it more us. So keep an eye on our social media for an official opening date."

The new location will occupy the former Burger Rebellion restaurant operated by Dale Lewis. Burger Rebellion got off to a great start in 2021, but then its quality of service dropped substantially, according to a number of people who posted 1-star reviews on Google.

On June 7, Joliet Patch reported that Burger Rebellion went out of business. Burger Rebellion opened Jan. 25, 2021, near the corner of Renwick Road and Weber Road during the coronavirus pandemic.

Moving forward, the owners of the Crusade Burger Bar are hoping to make Crest Hill area residents forget about Burger Rebellion.

Crusade has a phenomenal following in Yorkville, as evidenced by 2,531 Google Reviews, averaging 4.5 stars out of 5 stars.

"We are elated to bring our passion for creative burgers, artisanal cocktails and the best selection of craft beer further into the southwest suburbs," Crusade Burger Bar announced Monday. "This is step two of many, and we're incredibly grateful that you're joining us on this journey."

Crusade is part of the Minor Threat Restaurant Group, which also operates Sovereign in Plainfield.
