Electric Bicycle Ride Turns Violent At Joliet Jefferson Street Gas Station: English

JOLIET, IL ? A 32-year-old Joliet man was riding his electric bicycle along the busy streets and sidewalks of West Jefferson Street is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Ryan Johnson attacked his female passenger once they got to the BP gas station.

Johnson was put in the Will County Jail for the domestic battery crime and for having an outstanding Will County arrest warrant. It happened Saturday night.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said that on September 6, at 10:28 p.m., the officers responded to the parking lot of the BP gas station at 1987 West Jefferson for a domestic disturbance. He said the officers learned that Johnson had allegedly battered a woman by pulling her to the ground and punching her multiple times after both had been riding on an electric bicycle.
