Happy Father's Day From Dawn Cimino

In celebration of Father's Day on Sunday June 17, we asked Patch readers to submit a photo of their father. This is Dawn Cimino's photo with her father Henry Boe.

JOLIET, IL - This photo features my dad, Henry Boe, and myself, Dawn Cimino, during the father-daughter dance at my wedding last year on July 1, 2017 at the St. George Social Center on Stryker Ave in Joliet. Finally married at age 35, I am the only daughter of his for dad to have this traditional experience with.

This is my favorite picture of dad and I from the wedding. I love how it looks like I'm whispering in his ear and telling him a secret, while he is listening attentively with a smile.

The "message for my loved one," as you said to include, follows:

"Dad, you always say not to be spending money on a gift for you (and yes, this year, finances are pretty tight for us), but you still deserve something as special as you are on Father's Day. When I saw Patch was looking for photo submissions, I knew this was the perfect gift to give you! As my first wedding anniversary approaches in two weeks, what better time to say thank you again for giving me the wonderful wedding of my dreams, DJing my reception, creating my requested music playlists, and, of course, being a great father all these years. I may be married now, but a daughter always needs her dad! Love you so very much. Happy Father's Day!"
