Interstate 80 Ramp Closure Thursday in Joliet

JOLIET, IL — A pavement patching repair will require a temporary closure Thursday, Dec. 8, of the eastbound Interstate 80 ramp to northbound Center Street in Joliet, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. The closure is scheduled to take place, weather permitting, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Because of the closure’s short duration, a detour will not be posted. Illinois 7 (Larkin Avenue) or Illinois 53 (Chicago Street) are the recommended alternative routes.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to the signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, be on the alert for workers and equipment, expect delays and be prepared to stop.
