Jewel Osco Shoplifter Captured On Plainfield Road, Here's What Joliet Police Say Happened: English

JOLIET, IL ? The Joliet Police Department announced that Joseph Green, a 48-year-old man who comes from nearby New Lenox, was booked into the Will County Jail in connection with two counts of retail theft at the Jewel Osco on West Jefferson Street.
Police spokesman Dwayne English said that more than two months ago, on June 14, at 6:34 p.m., the officers responded to the Jewel Osco at 1401 West Jefferson Street for a past tense retail theft. U
The officers learned that two men had entered the store and placed cleaning products and alcohol valued at over $200 into a grocery cart and then left the store without paying for the merchandise.

Following an investigation into this theft, Joliet police identified Green as one of the suspects and determined that he was the one to exit the store with the merchandise without paying, English announced.
On Aug. 11, an arrest warrant was obtained for Green on two counts of retail theft. This week, Green was taken into custody on Tuesday morning after Joliet police saw him in the 3000 block of Plainfield Road.

Will County Jail records indicate that Green was let out of the jail just before supper time on Wednesday. He was also kept in the jail three days in July in connection with allegations of violating an order of protection. Green comes from the 300 block of Old Hickory Road.
